I am a Cognitive Behavior Therapist and I have extensive training and experience in treating disorders such as posttraumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. I also have training and experience in treating anxiety, anger and depression. I have worked in the mental health field for almost 20 years and I have helped a lot of people get better so they could live more meaningful and productive lives.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based approach and has more research to support its use than any other form of therapy. CBT has different approaches for specific disorders such as Cognitive Processing Therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder and Exposure and Response Prevention for obsessive compulsive disorder. In the case of some problems like obsessive compulsive disorder it is really the only therapy proven to be effective. CBT relies on collaboration between therapist and client. It is an active and often short-term therapy that produces measurable results. CBT is also flexible and can be adapted to meet the needs of any client. I have a very person centered approach. My job is to help you feel less distress so that it is easier for you to do the things you want and need to do.
I am trained and rostered in Cognitive Processing Therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder and I am trained by the International OCD Foundation and listed on their website.
